The Central China Investment and Trade Exposition, also known as Expo Central China, is a national trade expo approved by the State Council.
The event was first launched in 2006 and has since been held annually in China’s six central provinces.
The expo provides a platform for businesspeople from both home and abroad to communicate and cooperate in the economic and technological fields. It creates links between the Central China area and the capital and provides domestic and overseas markets resources.
It is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China Federation of Industrial Economics, and the six provincial governments of Hunan, Henan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Shanxi.
The 12th Expo Central China was held in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province, from May 21 to 23, 2021, with more than 1,000 businesses from 15 countries in attendance.
During the 12th expo, the six Central China provinces secured 433 investment projects, including 25 overseas-funded projects worth $1.96 billion and 408 projects funded by domestic investors. The total investment was 571.47 billion yuan ($89.2 billion).
