The 11th China Flower Expo will be held in Zhengzhou, capital of Central China’s Henan province, in 2025.
This year’s China Flower Expo ran from May 21 to July 2 on Shanghai's Chongming Island. Established in 1987, the expo is held every four years and is one of the largest and most influential national flower events in China.
The 10th China Flower Expo, themed "Blossom with a Chinese Dream", celebrated the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
The event was co-sponsored by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, China Flower Association, and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and was jointly hosted by the Shanghai Landscaping & City Appearance Administrative Bureau, the Shanghai Flower Association and the Shanghai Chongming district people’s government.
With a total planning area of 10 square kilometers, the expo attracted 189 exhibitors, the most in its history. They included flower and horticulture enterprises from both home and abroad, and branches of related associations and institutions. The expo also invited a host of world-leading flower enterprises to participate, such as Syngenta and Dummen Orange from the Netherlands, Benary from Germany and Danziger from Israel, according to the organizers.
The China Flower Expo is a comprehensive national flower event with the highest specifications in the field of flowers in the country. The event is not only an important window to show the development of the flower industry, but also an important platform to promote exchanges and cooperation between all parties. Taking advantage of the China Flower Expo, more and more bright flowers are combining the development direction of modern urban agriculture with high technology, high quality and high added value, helping to bloom the "beautiful economy" in Chongming.
To date, Chongming has successfully attracted eight leading enterprises of high-quality flowers, with a total investment of nearly 2.5 billion yuan (about $385.78 million). Up till the end of 2020, the total area of commercial flowers planted in the region was 28,000 mu (about 18.67 square kilometers), with the total output of flowers reaching 32,452,900 branches (pots), and annual sales exceeding 100 million yuan.
