Guangxi extends mass vaccination to minors aged 12-17

Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region will research and draw up vaccination plans for the region's residents aged between 12 and 17 in the second half of 2021.

Those aged between 12 and 17 are juveniles and most of them are students in primary schools, middle schools, high schools, secondary vocational school and technical schools. Their parents or guardians are required to keep company with them through the whole time and sign the inform letters at the scene. 

Guangxi started administering the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines to youths aged between 15 and 17 in July and the second dose will be administered in August.

The first dose of COVID-19 vaccines for youths aged between 12 and 14 will be administered in August. It is expected that the vaccination for residents aged between 12 and 17 will be completely finished by the end of October. 

As of 8 am on July 13, a total of around 40.45 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across the region and 17.03 million people have been vaccinated twice.

At present, the region has designated 2,050 places for vaccination, including 106 large-scale temporary vaccination sites, and 10 mobile vaccination cars. 

The daily vaccine capacity in the region has now reached 1.5 million.
