Tencent Start Innovation Center lands Foshan Hi-tech Zone

The Tencent Start Innovation Center project was officially kicked off in Shunde Park of Foshan Hi-tech Zone in Guangdong's Foshan city, as a cooperation agreement was signed between Foshan Hi-tech Zone, Shunde district and Tencent Cloud.

As the first district-level Tencent Start Innovation Center nationwide, the project aims to empower Shunde's digital industrialization by making advantages of the captial, technology and industrial resources of Tencent, in a bid to promote industrial transformation and forge a service benchmark for the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry in southern China.

The cooperation between Shunde district government and Tencent on building the Tecent Start Innovation Center in Shunde started in November 2020. The goal is to build a Tencent digital economy innovation and application demonstration zone in Shunde that features a new innovation system, stimulating innovation vitality, new business forms and internet industries.

Shunde will provide cloud platforms to on-site enterprises with financial support.Tencent, the internet giant, will proportionally subsidize equivalent Tencent products and services in order to support the digital transformation of local enterprises. It will also provide consultancy and talent incubation services to help enhance the integrated ability of digital operation and sales of local industries.

Once the project landed in Foshan Hi-tech Zone, a series of industry acceleration platforms were to be built with following anticipated actions:

- Annually promote Tencent ecosystem enterprises in areas such as AI, digitalized parks, SAAS, robotics, financial technology and health care;

- Annually introduce and encourage Tencent partners and post-investment enterprises to settle in Shunde Park;

- Establish an enterprise service platform and cloud public service platform for local enterprises and support them with Tencent cloud services;

- Establish an industry consultancy and talent incubation platform by introducing Tencent courses on digital transformation and personnel training;

- Introduce the Tencent industry accelerator, Tencent technology salon, Tencent cloud technology forum, Tencent industry innovation competition and other activities;

- Establish a showcase center on Tencent industry convergence achievements and products.

The innovation center in Shunde Park is expected to inject new vitality into the digital transformation of the park, elevating its attractiveness to sci-tech and digital industries via the brand influence of Tencent Start, and gradually forming the enterprise clustering of the Tencent ecosystem. Enterprises in Shunde will also benefit from a series of imported activities that will stimulate their innovation and attract more quality talents.
