Hainan paves way for island-wide customs clearances

In the wake of the new Master Plan for Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port – released on June 1, 2020 -- China’s southernmost island province of Hainan has been on the move. It has prioritized promoting the integration of institutional innovation, as well as more convenient trade and investment and an open economic system -- with significant headway having been made within one year. As the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port gets off the ground, Hainan is laying a solid foundation for island-wide customs clearance operations scheduled by 2025.
