Heilongjiang's GDP reached 1.62 trillion yuan ($235.8 billion) in 2018, up five percent over the previous year. The added value of primary industries increased by 5.6 percent, 1.5 percentage points higher than the national average. Secondary industries climbed 2.8 percent, 4.5 percentage points lower than the national average. Tertiary industries generated a year-on-year growth rate of nine percent, 0.9 percentage points higher than the national average.
The registered urban unemployment rate stood at 4.47 percent. The per capita disposable income of urban residents rose by 8.4 percent and that of rural residents increased by 11.6 percent. Energy consumption per unit of GDP fell by four percent. The actual utilization of foreign capital exceeded $5 billion, an increase of 11.1 percent.
Administration divisions
Heilongjiang province exercises jurisdiction over 13 cities (prefectures). They are Harbin, Qiqihar, Mudanjiang, Jiamusi, Daqing, Yichun, Jixi, Hegang, Shuangyashan, Qitaihe, Suihua, Heihe and the Greater Khingan Mountains area, with 67 counties (county-level cities) and ethnic autonomous counties. Harbin is its capital.
