Population: 10,047,914 (2020)

Area: 11,816 square kilometers

Location: In the center of Chinese mainland and northeast of Hunan province 

Changsha is the capital of Central China's Hunan province. It is a historical city well-known at home and abroad. In 2017, the city was crowned the title "Culture City of East Asia" by China, Japan and South Korea.

Economy: Changsha's GDP increased by 8.5 percent in 2018, and the added value of industries above a designated size saw a growth of 7.6 percent. Its fixed-asset investment saw a year-on-year increase of 11.5 percent, while the growth rate of its total retail sales of consumer goods was 10 percent. (All the numbers are estimated according to the report.)

Administrative divisions: Changsha city governs a county-level city of Liuyang, and two counties- Changsha county and Ningxiang county, and six districts – Tianxin district, Furong district, Kaifu district, Yuelu district, Wangcheng district and Yuhua district.
