Nearly 10 species of rare birds, including the oriental plover, have been spotted in a wetland park in Southwest China's Yunnan province.

It is the first time that the oriental plover, listed "endangered" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, has been found in the province, said Lin Lei, director of the administration center of the Qinghuahai national wetland park in Baoshan city.

In recent years, Baoshan has launched projects to protect and restore wetland resources in the city, attracting more than 20,000 migratory birds to the wetland park every winter.
