Three ports of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, including Nanning Wuxu International Airport, Pingxiang Youyi Port, and Longzhou Shuikou Port, have recently been approved by the Ministry of Finance to set up duty-free shops for outbound tourists.

The approval to set up outbound duty-free shops will provide a path for Nanning, Pingxiang, and Longzhou to develop duty-free shopping business and improve tourism functions. They will play an important role in reducing consumer travel shopping costs and bolstering consumption, driving the development of industries like tourism, aviation, accommodation, and catering.

Nanning Wuxu International Airport is Guangxi's largest aviation hub, an international gateway hub for ASEAN, and a first-class aviation port. Youyi Port in Pingxiang, Chongzuo is a national first-class port, as well as the largest and most convenient land channel from China to ASEAN countries. Shuikou Port in Longzhou county, Chongzuo is the earliest gateway for non-governmental trade between Guangxi and Vietnam. It is one of the three major highway ports in Guangxi's foreign port economy. It is an important passage for trade between China, Vietnam, and Southeast Asian countries.

In the future, the Guangxi Finance Department will carry out cooperation with customs, taxation, commerce, and other government departments to help the aforementioned ports determine the operating entities of outbound duty-free shops in accordance with the prescribed procedures as soon as possible, fully releasing the benefits of the duty-free shopping policy to promote Guangxi's opening-up and economic development.
