Hohhot in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region is to start development of a number of public health emergency security projects, according to the city’s health commission.
Commission officials said the move was in response to the shortcomings of the city's public health prevention and control system in COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
They said six projects will be established.
These include the No 2 Hospital of Hohhot Relocation Project, Hohhot Emergency Center Construction Project, Hohhot Occupational Disease Prevention Hospital Construction Project and the Hohhot Mental Health Center Construction Project.
Officials said the six projects will have unified location, overall planning, simultaneous construction and overall implementation.
The planned construction site covers 781.8 mu (52.12 hectares) and the buildings will have total floor space of 210,700 square meters.
Officials said the total investment will be around 1.92 billion yuan ($271 million).
