A high-speed belt railway line connecting Guiyang, Guizhou province, Chengdu, Sichuan province, and Chongqing municipality is set to operate for the first time on April 10.

As Guizhou's second largest city, Zunyi will take the opportunity to further integrate into the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and play the role of the central city of Guizhou-Sichuan-Chongqing junction.

When opened, the trains will take only eight hours to travel through Guizhou, Sichuan, and Chongqing, allowing Zunyi residents to directly reach major cities like Meishan, Leshan, Yibin, and Bijie.

Chengdu and Chongqing have increasing influence on Zunyi's development. With the Chongqing-Guiyang railway being put into operation in 2018, Zunyi has seen growth in tourism, investment attraction, medical treatment, and talent introduction.

In 2018, over 8 million tourists visited Zunyi from Chongqing. Zunyi aims to keep exploring the tourism markets in Chengdu and Chongqing by promoting scenic spots along the belt railway line.

According to Wang Siping, director of the Hunhuan district bureau of investment promotion in Zunyi, the bureau has reached cooperation agreement with enterprises in Sichuan and Chongqing to establish investment attraction offices that receive high-end equipment industry transfers from Chongqing.

In recent years, Zunyi has established a stable cooperation relationship which is led by the government and focuses on companies with Chongqing. In 2019, Zunyi and Chongqing signed nine framework agreement and 15 projects involving transportation, medical treatment, logistics, and tourism, with a total investment of 7.43 billion yuan ($1.05 billion).

Since 2018, Chengdu and Chongqing have invested in 854 projects in Zunyi, accounting for over one third of the total projects introduced to Zunyi, with an investment of 154.9 billion yuan.

Zunyi will hold various investment promotion activities in Chengdu this year to accelerate cooperation with Sichuan in the food industry, tourism industry, and health industry.
