“You built up our confidence, reacted very quickly, promised and did well in the service for enterprises. We are proud to be in Beijing and in the BDA.” So wrote Lindemann Eckhard, representative of Bosch Rexroth (Beijing) Hydraulic in a letter of thanks.

Eight enterprise representatives are invited to discuss the difficulties and possible solutions with Beijing E-Town officials on March 5.

The business operation of the company, like all the other 1000-plus enterprises in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) , also known as Beijing E-Town, has seen tremendous disturbances as novel coronavirus battered China in late January and attacked over 100 countries around the world.

To promote production resumption, BDA Administrative Commission deputy director Chen Xiaonan held a one to one meeting with the hydraulic company on February 11, learning that smooth logistics was an urgent need.

“The Business Cooperation Bureau issued a letter to support our continued production and sought support from related departments, with which we have communicated with the suppliers in Tianjin and Hebei Province, and they are now back in operation.” said the thank-you letter.

In early March, eight enterprise representatives were invited to further discuss the difficulties and possible solutions after work resumption.

Kazziet Ooi, general manager of a semiconductor company in the BDA, said his employees are encouraged to drive to work instead of taking public transport to minimize interpersonal contact, but there’s limited parking space for his company.

Yan Ying ,deputy director of the Business Cooperation Bureau of BDA, said that she had coordinated with the traffic bureau and street parking is allowed as long as it doesn’t disturb traffic on the main road.

Also at the meeting, Soenke Zornig, head of Product Supply China, Bayer Pharmaceuticals Division, appreciated the strong support from BDA also during this specific period of time.

The focus of Bayer Pharma is on the protection of employees and the environment and on the supply of the pharmaceutical products.

While there are some shortages in consumables and in oversea-transportation Bayer Pharma remains confident that solutions will be found with the great support from BDA and respective functions, according to the representative.

Chen promised that the BDA will try to provide urgent health care products, such as face masks, on a one-week basis for those in need.

Other representatives of electronics corporation and automobile manufactures, among other companies, voiced their urgent needs and wishes to the BDA.

“We hope to provide the best support to every local enterprise,” said Chen, taking down specific points from each enterprise.
