The market supervision bureau of Baotou -- along with financial services giant Ping An Insurance Group Co Ltd -- has launched a support service for small and micro businesses that have resumed production in the city, with a guaranteed amount of 400 million yuan ($57.21 million), according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

Officials said the bureau was informed that Ping An Insurance had launched an exclusive risk protection service for small and micro enterprises, to fight the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak.

Each small and micro business can receive a maximum insurance coverage of 1 million yuan, to cover a variety of diseases including coronavirus pneumonia.

The market supervision bureau immediately coordinated with the city's businesspeople and private enterprise associations to contact the insurance company. It briefed them and actively guided and helped the businesses apply for the risk protection.

To date, the Baotou Association of Individual and Private Enterprises has instructed 425 small and micro enterprises in the city to apply for this risk guarantee free of charge.

It is providing protection to nearly 10,000 employees of small and micro enterprises, with a coverage of more than 400 million yuan.

The market supervision bureau plans to continue to actively and orderly promote the resumption of production by Baotou-based enterprises.

Officials said it will help the businesses solve the difficulties and problems encountered in the process of work and production resumption.
