A chartered plane carrying 174 migrant workers left Hotan Airport in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region for Changsha, capital of Central China's Hunan province on Saturday.

The government of Hotan prefecture thus enabled workers to return to their jobs after the Lunar New Year holiday, which was extended due to the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) outbreak.

To ensure workers' health and safety, the local department of health conducted a training course on prevention and control of the epidemic as well as health examinations before their departure.

Furthermore, the department distributed surgical masks to the workers and sent them to the airport together.

Xayida Sadir, from Goglag village, became an employee in Changsha in 2018.

"My annual income in Changsha is several times that of my whole family. I will continue to work hard to earn more money," she said.

Currently, the local government has worked with 13 provinces and cities, including Anhui, Shandong, Hunan and Fujian, to organize more than 10,000 job posts for local residents.

More chartered transport arrangements for workers will be made in the coming days.
