China-Europe Freight Train enriches Spring Festival goods available in Xi'an

Loaded with flour and edible oil, the X9020 China-Europe Freight Train for Spring Festival purchases arrived at Xinzhu Station in Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park on Jan 16, after a nine day journey from Toshkent, capital of Uzbekistan.

In order to contribute to the construction of the Belt and Road, China Railway Xi'an Group Co has established a close cooperation with ITL Park based on the location of the new starting point of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

Since Nov 28, 2013, Xi'an has opened 13 international routes to five countries in Central Asia, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Finland, Belarus, and Russia, achieving comprehensive coverage of major sources of supply in Central Asia and Europe.

As of Jan 16, a total of 2,916 freight trains have operated from Xi'an to Central Asia and Europe, transporting 3.05 million metric tons of goods.

With Spring Festival approaching, Xinzhu Station hosted the first China-Europe Freight Train Online Shopping Festival to make it easier for people to buy goods brought by the freight trains in time.

More than 5,000 kinds of products from 13 categories are available through the festival, allowing residents to choose from a variety of goods, spanning daily necessities, household products, health products, drinks, maternal and infant supplies, as well as more than 1,000 kinds of red wines from well-known estates in France, Spain, and Italy.
