Guangxi to build industry cluster of Taiwan SMEs

Construction on the Taiwan SME cluster area started in the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Dec 16. It is an important project for the coordinated development and cooperation of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits.

With a total investment of nearly 600 million yuan ($85.66 million), the project has a total land area of 136 mu (9.07 hectares) and a total construction area of 180,000 square meters. It will build 22 standard plants, a high-rise plant, as well as an administrative office and living facilities.

The cluster area will focus on introducing industries with obvious competitive advantages in Taiwan, such as advanced technology industries, modern service industries, high-end equipment and smart manufacturing industries, as well as developing industries like healthcare and retirement, medical services, and health equipment.

The China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park has actively studied the needs and laws of Taiwan's industrial development, as well as introduced preferential policies for enterprises and investors from Taiwan. It plans to establish a new platform and carrier for Taiwan enterprises by building the industry cluster, which focuses on serving the transformation of Taiwan's industries and the deep integration of Taiwan's characteristic industries with Chinese mainland's industries.

According to Gao Pu, executive deputy director of the industrial park, the park will next plan to build a number of supporting service projects that serve Taiwan businessmen, such as small towns, as well as vocational and technical schools. It will become a new base and second home for Taiwan businessmen with a sound industrial development ecosystem.

After completion, the Taiwan SME cluster area will become an important carrier to promote cross-Straits production capacity and deepen cooperation between enterprises.
