China, ASEAN strengthen medical cooperation

More than 130 members of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region's clinical precision medicine committee and experts from seven ASEAN countries explored cooperation in cutting-edge medicine at the 3rd China-ASEAN International Conference on Precision Medicine, which was held at Guangxi Medical University from Dec 13 to 15.

With the theme of "Clinical Big Data and Precision Medicine," participants conducted academic exchanges on the latest research advances, cutting-edge theories, and technological developments in the fields of precision medicine research results transformation and its application, as well as the construction and application of the precision medicine ecosystem.

According to Cao Kunhua, director of the Guangxi Science and Technology Bureau, Guangxi attaches great importance to technological innovation and progress in the medical field, supporting key technology research, cutting-edge technology research, and platform construction. It has also promoted the development of Guangxi's healthcare industry through various forms.

Cao also noted that Guangxi Medical University, as the medical school with the longest history in the region, has achieved several results in the development of precision medicine in Guangxi, which has effectively promoted China-ASEAN precision medicine cooperation.

Guangxi has strengthened cooperation with ASEAN countries in the medical field in recent years. It has successfully held several international forums on drug cooperation, traditional medicine, and healthy tourism. In addition, the exchanges of Chinese medicine talents with the ASEAN countries were also carried out in Guangxi.
