Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital
The Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital started reconstruction on Sept 26, 2009 and resumed operations on Oct 26, 2016. It is situated alongside Dishui Lake in Nanhui New City, near the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (Yangshan Area).
The hospital covers an area of 150 mu, or 72,000 square meters. A grade-three, Class A comprehensive hospital combining medical services, education and research functions, it has 600 beds and 42 special departments, of which 33 are clinical departments and nine are medico-technical departments.
In 2016, the hospital treated more than 471,000 people, including 382,000 outpatients, and 15,818 patients were discharged from the hospital.
The hospital possesses 653 medical staff members, including 218 doctors. More than a third of the hospital’s doctors are senior doctors, and more than 88 percent of its doctors have postgraduate degrees . It also has 11 PhD advisors and 37 postgraduate tutors.
