According to the Government E-service Capability Index (2019) report released on Sept 24, Southwest China's Guizhou province ranks first in terms of provincial government e-service capabilities in China.

The report established a scientific, objective, measurable, and clearly orientated evaluation system to test and improve the development level of government e-service capabilities.

In recent years, government departments at all levels have adopted government e-service systems influenced by emerging technologies like cloud computing, big data, and information security.

The report also suggested that standards and regulations of government e-service capabilities should be established to promote the modernization of governance capacity.

As one of China's first comprehensive national big data pilot areas, Guizhou has invested 67.78 million yuan ($9.51 million) to build an online government service network that connects 56 approval management systems and 261 data interfaces involving 650,000 government services. So far, over 2 million people have benefited from the convenient services provided by the network.

Guizhou has also built 19,000 government service halls and stations offering simple services for individuals and companies.
