Film exhibitions and storytelling events were held in southern Europe from Sept 3 to 9 to promote Guangdong films and stories "going global", as well as further deepen exchanges between Chinese and overseas countries.
Hosted by the Radio and Television Administration of Guangdong Province, the film exhibitions screened five films and one movie trailer in Venice and Milan of Italy, Athens of Greece, and Madrid of Spain. It built a platform for people in the three countries to learn about Guangdong films, as well as provided an opportunity for filmmakers to conduct exchanges and cooperation.
The five films were the Yueju Opera film Bai She Zhuan·Qing(The Legend of the White Snake·Love), the animated filmBoonie Bears: Entangled Worlds, the feature film Silent Witness, the action movie Shock Wave, as well as the film The Photographer. The films were chosen because they reflected the great changes and innovative development of China in the past 40 years of reform and opening up.
In addition, 36 pictures showcasing the landscape in Lingnan area, as well as the innovative development and achievements of Guangdong since reform and opening up were also exhibited in the three countries.
Storytelling events boosting dialogue and exchanges among the cultural and art circles, as well as entrepreneurs from China with their counterparts in the three countries were also held at the same time.
