Luoyang Central Hospital

Luoyang Central Hospital, or Luoyang Central Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University, was founded in June 1950. The 3-A grade hospital offers services in medical treatment, teaching and training, scientific research, disease prevention, healthcare, rehabilitation and first-aid.

Located in Henan's Luoyang, the hospital covers a floor space of 50,000 square meters that includes more than 70 departments and 61 clinical wards with 2,144 inpatient beds. The hospital has 2,672 staff members, including 273 with senior professional title, and 533 with master's and doctoral degrees. In 2018, the annual number of outpatients at the hospital exceeded 1.1 million, while discharged patients totaled 89,000.

The hospital is a standardized diagnosis and treatment center for tumor diseases commissioned by the National Health Commission, a pilot hospital for information construction, a training base for general practitioners, as well as a quality control center for severe case treatment, anesthesia, pathology, tumor radiotherapy, hospital infection management, clinical examination, nursing quality and AIDS diagnosis and treatment.

Equipped with medical strength, the hospital has led the country in surgery for heart diseases and has developed minimally invasive surgeries for congenital heart diseases and coronary artery bypass. In 2018, it undertook 1,086 heart disease surgeries and conducted more than 2,320 IVF procedures, both of which put it at the forefront in Henan.

Luoyang Central Hospital is a teaching hospital for more than 10 medicinal colleges and universities in China, including Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Medical College of Zhengzhou University and Xinxiang Medical College. Over the years, the hospital has paid much attention to promoting its scientific research levels, publishing 2,965 essays, of which 97 were listed in the Science Citation Index (SCI).
