Zhongyuan Electronics, first set up in 1949 in Shanghai, was moved to Wuhan in 1957. The company is a subordinate of China Great Wall Technology Group Co Ltd of China Electronics Corporation (CEC).

With its headquarters in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, the company has nine second-class enterprises, employing more than 3,900 staff members. It also owns four research and development institutions.

The company mainly manages business relating to high-tech electronics, applied electronics and battery energy, including tactical communication systems, displayers, automotive electronics, smart power grids, the Beidou application and lead-acid battery.

The company cooperates with many prestigious companies such as State Grid, China Southern Power Grid and Dongfeng Automobile.
