The 1911 Revolution Museum

辛亥革命博物馆(xīn hài gé mìng bó wù guǎn)

The 1911 Revolution Museum, in memory of the Wuchang Uprising that marked the start of the 1911 Revolution, started its construction in August 2009 and was opened to the public for free in October 2011.

The museum, covering a building area of 22,142 sq m, has four floors, including one underground. It has seven exhibition galleries, integrating exhibitions, cultural relic collections, education, and scientific research.

It has a total collection of 428 cultural relic pieces related to the 1911 Revolution, along with 694 historical photos.

Butterfly Museum of Hubei University

湖北大学蝴蝶馆(hú běi dà xué hú dié guǎn)

The Butterfly Museum of Hubei University displays specimens of over 1,000 kinds of rare butterflies, including Agehana elwesi and Morpho helena, along with other strange insects.

The Museum of Aquatic Organisms of the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

中科院水生生物博物馆(zhōng kē yuàn shuǐ shēng shēng wù bó wù guǎn)

The Museum of Aquatic Organisms of the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was first established in Nanjing in 1930 and finally settled down in Wuhan in 1954. The museum boasts a collection of nearly 400,000 specimens, and its freshwater fish specimens make up the majority, with a total number amounting to more than 300,000.

The specimen of a Chinese sturgeon, paddlefish, a Yangtze River Dolphin, and cowfish are listed among the most precious treasures of the museum.

In addition, the museum also organizes various kinds of activities, such as science lectures, to showcase the charm of aquatic organisms. It has also established official online platforms, such as its WeChat account and applet, for people to learn more about the exhibits in the museum.
