East China Jiaotong University

East China Jiaotong University is a multidisciplinary university featuring transport and rail traffic. Founded in 1971, the university originated from Shanghai Railway College and moved to Nanchang, Jiangxi province, in the same year.

Covering a floor space of 187.73 hectares and a building area of 798,000 square meters, the university's library has 2.3 million paper books, and 2.33 million e-books. The total value of the university's teaching and research equipment is 393 million yuan ($55.65 million).

By May 2019, the university had 18 colleges and departments offering 50 undergraduate degree programs, four of which were listed as national characteristic disciplines. The degree programs cover eight discipline fields: engineering, economics, management, literature, science, law, education and art. There are three doctoral degrees in first-tier disciplines, and 21 master's degrees in first-tier disciplines.

The university has 23,200 full-time students, including 2,700 graduate and doctoral students. It has nearly 2,000 faculty members, of whom 1,200 are full-time teachers. Among the outstanding staff members are more than 170 with honorable titles at ministerial and provincial level or above such as academicians of the two academies, and distinguished professors on the Chang Jiang Scholars Program.

Focusing on the development of discipline construction and scientific research, the university has undertaken more than 3,000 scientific research projects, and won 45 awards at ministerial and provincial level or above, including 280 projects of the National 973 Plan, National Science Fund, and National Key Research and Development Program.

At the same time, the university has actively promoted international communication and cooperation with more than 40 universities in The United Kingdom, the United States, France and Russia to carry out academic exchanges to cultivate international high-quality talents.
