Anhui Mental Health Center

Anhui Mental Health Center, also called the Fourth People's Hospital of Hefei, is located in Hefei, Anhui province, and covers nearly 80,000 square meters.

Established in 1953, the hospital was approved in 1996 by the provincial health department as a 3A-grade specialized mental health hospital, which undertakes medical treatment, prevention, scientific research, teaching and rehabilitation.

The hospital has more than 800 staff members and 1,280 inpatient beds. The annual number of outpatient visits exceeds 200,000.

The hospital has nearly 20 clinical departments, including psychiatry, geriatric psychology, and child and adolescent psychology. It has 19 clinical inpatient wards, including 12 enclosed management wards.

The psychiatry department is a key specialty which will be given more priority during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20), and its departments of neuroses, child and adolescent mental health, and somnipathy were listed among Hefei’s key clinical specialties.

The hospital's judicial expertise department is the largest of its kind in Anhui province, and is the only psychiatric authenticated organization with judicial qualifications. It has 24 practicing judicial experts, and its annual identification cases amount to about 1,500, which has led the country for years.
