Beibei Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital, once China's first public first-aid hospital of TCM in Nanjing, was relocated to Chongqing in 1959 and was listed among the first batch of national 3A-grade TCM hospitals in Chongqing in 2012.
The hospital has two campuses – the main campus and a branch in Chongqing's old city–and three community health service centers – Beiquan, Longfeng and Chaoyang. It will cover 68,000 square meters and possess 480 million yuan ($68 million) worth of fixed assets after the completion of a national construction project worth 100 million yuan.
The hospital now has opened 800 beds, 30 clinical departments and 10 medical laboratories. It has two national key clinical specialties, which are encephalopathy and ENT, along with four national characteristic TCM specialties: ENT, orthopedics, acupuncture and pulmonary.
It employs over 1,000 staff members, including 845 professionals, 123 experts with senior titles, 76 masters and doctors and eight master's supervisors.
The hospital owns 150 million yuan of advanced imported equipment, such as superconducting 1.5T MRI, Toshiba 64-set CT, Philips 16-set CT, digital plate angiography and hyperbaric oxygen chamber.
