Jiangxi Provincial Cancer Hospital

Set up in 1970, Jiangxi Provincial Cancer Hospital was used to be the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and renamed the Second People's Hospital of Jiangxi in 1972. The hospital got its current name in 1986, and is also called Jiangxi Oncology Institute, offering services for tumor prevention, diagnosis and treatment, teaching, scientific research and rehabilitation.

Over more than 30 years of development, the hospital has grown into the largest 3A-grade public cancer hospital in Jiangxi, which specializes the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and plastic and reconstructive surgery.

With a gross floor area of 121,600 square meters, the hospital is equipped with 1,650 patient beds. There are 22 clinical departments, 10 technical departments and 24 administrative departments. The hospital has a workforce of 1,607, among whom 347 are professionals with senior titles, and one expert who enjoys the special allowance awarded by the State Council.

The hospital has a well-equipped scientific research platform. It has participated in many national and provincial scientific research projects, including one national 863 Program, a national-level high-tech research program initiated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and conducted 23 research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

At the same time, the hospital has established cooperative relationship with the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, and has sent nine medical staff to study in the US.
