Handan Central Hospital

Founded in 1946, Handan Central Hospital is a large 3A-grade general hospital offering medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, prevention, healthcare, as well as rehabilitation and first aid services.

The hospital has a total construction area of 220,000 square meters, with total assets of 2.36 billion yuan ($335.1 million), and 2,745 patient beds. The hospital currently has 3,659 staff members, of whom 520 have senior titles, 931 have intermediate titles, 742 are master’s and doctoral graduate students, with four experts enjoying governmental allowance.

At present, the hospital has more than 150 clinical disciplines, specialties, and majors. The annual number of outpatient and emergency visits is 1.73 million, and that of discharged patients and inpatients has reached 93,800, with 65,200 patients undergoing operations.

It has 46 key disciplines and specialties, including one provincial key medical discipline, four provincial key medical development disciplines, 22 municipal key medical disciplines, seven municipal key medical development disciplines, and one municipal characteristic specialty.

The hospital is also equipped with high-end medical imaging equipment, such as PET-CT, 640-slice spiral CT machines, 3.0T superconducting nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) instruments, image guided linear accelerators, angiography systems (DSA), and other large medical equipment worth over 100,000 yuan in total.
