Hubei Cancer Hospital, set up in 1973, is a large 3A-grade cancer hospital integrating disease prevention, medical treatment, rehabilitation, scientific research and teaching directly under the Health Commission of Hubei province.
Located in Wuhan's Hongshan district, the hospital covers 154,000 square meters and a building area of 130,000 sq m, while the area of green land at the hospital is 90,000 sq m.
The hospital has 31 clinical departments, 11 medical laboratories and 2,000 patient beds. The department of oncology is listed as national key clinical specialty and four other departments – general surgery, radiology, pathology and ultrasonography – are listed among provincial key clinical specialties.
The hospital has 1,419 staff members, with 261 holding senior titles, 255 holding middle titles and 285 having master's or doctoral degrees.
It owns a range of advanced medical facilities, including six electron linear accelerators, PET-CT, 3.0T MRI, ECT, a high-end energy spectrum CT and a large aperture analog CT.
It has maintained cooperation and communication with overseas medical institutions such as MD Anderson Cancer Center, Medical College of Nebraska University, New Jersey Robert Wood John Medical college, Medical College of Nancy-Metz University and Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
