The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University

The hospital was one of the first 3A-grade hospitals in China, one of the first Top 100 Hospitals in China, one of the NHFPC International Emergency Assistance Center's network hospitals, and Shaanxi province's medical center for overseas patients.

Over many years, the hospital has developed into a large facility administered by the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), integrating the functions of medical treatment, education, scientific research, healthcare, and rehabilitation and prevention.

The hospital has a workforce of 4,741, including 559 on-post professionals with senior titles. Among the employees, there are two double-employed academicians, three scholars on the Thousand Talents Program, one scholar from the Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholar program, one distinguished professor of the Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholar Award Program, one scholar of the Young Program of Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholars, two "Outstanding Youths", and many experts at provincial or ministerial level making outstanding contributions.

A complete set of disciplines are available at the hospital. There are 55 medical departments and laboratories, including 44 medical departments and 11 medical laboratories. The hospital's urology department, including a kidney transplant department, is listed as a Ministry of Education national key discipline, and the dermatology department is listed as a MOE national key cultivation discipline.

The hospital puts emphasis on the development of medical specialties, shaping distinct features in the application of such advanced technologies as liver and kidney transplants, hemopoietic stem cell transplants, coronary artery bypass surgery, CHD intervention and minimally invasive surgery as well as in medical and surgical interventions in such complicated diseases as tumors, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular and metabolic diseases.

The hospital has competent full-time researchers and a well-equipped scientific research platform. It operates one MOE key laboratory, two Shaanxi key laboratories, five Shaanxi clinical research centers and four branch centers, two Shaanxi engineering research centers and 11 medical institutes of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
