Dali University

Dali University, first established in 1878, has developed into a comprehensive university with advantages in medicine, education, biology and ecology. It was the earliest university in Yunnan province outside Kunming, the capital, and was also the first being to be able to confer a master's degree.

Located in Dali in central Yunnan, the university covers more than 150 hectares and its two campuses–Gucheng and Xiaguan – enjoy splendid campus environments.

The university has 17 teaching departments and two affiliated hospitals. It has 68 undergraduate programs and has cultivated more than 150,000 graduates since its establishment. About 80 percent of those graduates work in remote areas with ethnic minorities.

The university enjoys a strong reputation for promoting Chinese in Southeast Asia and has established deep relationships in education, communication and cooperation with 46 overseas universities.
