The Tunpu work camp of the Chinese Heritage Conservation Work Camp recently restarted in Yunshan village, Xixiu district, Anshun, Southwest China's Guizhou province. The work camp consisted of eight volunteers from France and 13 from all across China.

The Tunpu work camp, established in August, 2014, is the 71st work camp run by the International Collaborative Group on World Heritage Conservation and is also the fourth of its kind in China.

The theme of this year's workcamp was "Inheritance: Time is Power." Through six years of experience, volunteers carried forward the craftsmanship and raised public awareness for heritage protection.

The work camp is dedicated to renovating the resident buildings in Yunshan village, while protecting their ethnic features and heritage value, as well as exploring a feasible and sustainable way to revitalize the rural areas.

"The joint efforts made by volunteers from China and France will promote heritage protection among the public, as well as enhance the related cooperation between the two countries," said Jian Yue, an architect of the Tunpu work camp.
