Guilin Museum cooperates with Guangxi University in culture development

Guangxi Guilin Museum and Guangxi University signed a cooperation agreement on July 20 to create a platform for cooperation between museums and universities, as well as carry out projects such as academic research, talent exchange, and the R&D of cultural and creative products.

Guilin Museum was established in 1964. Its new site opened in 2017 with a total construction area of 34,000 square meters and an exhibition area of about 12,000 square meters. It is the largest and most comprehensive museum in Guangxi with the most distinctive collections. 

The cooperation agreement between the two sides will be mainly carried out through three aspects: academic research, talent exchange and training, as well as the R&D of cultural and creative products.

Guilin Museum will fully utilize the museum's resources to support the construction of the humanities and social sciences departments of Guangxi University. Guangxi University will make full use of the advantages of its talent resources in related academic disciplines to help construct a smart museum and data center.

The two sides will carry out talent exchanges and cooperation through the mutual recruitment of researchers, professors, and visiting scholars. They will jointly promote historical and cultural projects. They will also use their respective advantages to cooperate in the research and design of cultural and creative products, as well as the development and operation of various derivative cultural products.

Wei Fengyun, deputy major of Guilin, said at the signing ceremony that she hopes the combination of Guilin Museum and Guangxi University will help upgrade Guilin into an international tourist destination through its cultural strengths.
