Heilongjiang sees significant foreign trade growth

The total volume of imports and exports in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province reached 93.34 billion yuan ($13.57billion) in the first half of this year, with a year-on-year increase of 21.5 percent—17.6 percentage points higher than the average national growth rate.

Exports came in at 16.28 billion yuan, increasing 22.9 percent and 16.8 percentage points higher than the average national growth rate; while imports totaled 77.06 billion yuan, an increase of 21.2 percent and 19.8 percentage points higher than the average national growth rate.

Advanced technological products were one of the highlights of the province’s exports, with 1.4 billion yuan export, representing year-on-year growth of 1.4 times.

Heilongjiang is at the forefront of China's opening up to Russia. Foreign trade between Heilongjiang province and Russia experienced rapid growth in the first six months of the year, thanks to deepening and expanding Sino-Russian cooperation.

The total value of Heilongjiang's imports and exports to that country came in at 64.27 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 20.3 percent. Exports with Russia accounted for 4.2 billion yuan of the total value of the province’s imports and exports, a year-on-year increase of 13.7 percent; and the imports with Russia account for 60.07 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.8 percent.

The total volume of import and export trade with Heilongjiang’s traditional trade partners also witnessed significant growth. The trade volume between Heilongjiang and Europe Union, Japan and South Korea increased 13 percent, 10.6 percent and 9.5 percent respectively.
