AmCham China willing to help Fujian's opening-up

Gregory Gilligan, vice president of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, said on July 5 that the organization and its member companies are willing to play a supporting role in Fujian's opening-up and contribute efforts in the country's high-quality development.

Gilligan, made the remarks while attending a Fujian promotional conference with attendance of multiple multinational companies in Beijing.

The conference came as a significant part of a global promotional event launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fujian provincial people's government.

Established in 1919, AmCham China is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization whose membership compromises nearly 40,000 individuals from about 1,000 companies operating across China, covering such sectors as finance, energy, machinery, electronics, medical care and retail.

AmCham China is the only officially recognized chamber of commerce representing American businesses on Chinese mainland. AmCham China's headquarters are located in Beijing. In addition to a Tianjin Chapter, it has a Central China Chapter based in Wuhan and a Northeast China Chapter with offices in Dalian and Shenyang.
