During the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), which was held from June 27 to June 29 in Changsha, Hunan province, Southwest China's Guizhou province signed 84 agreements worth over $20.8 billion with African countries.

About 16 enterprises from Guizhou participated in the expo and took part in various dialogues, seminars, promotions, and consultation meetings to communicate with African enterprises and learn more about the African market, which led to cooperation agreements with Uganda and Kenya.

PowerChina Guizhou Engineering Co Ltd signed a $300 million engineering procurement construction contract with a cement clinker factory in Savannah, Kenya, as well as an $85 million construction project with Uganda to build a specialized international hospital, which will be the largest general hospital with the highest level in East Africa.
