Electronic information technology industry

The electronic information technology industry is the No 1 pillar industry of Sichuan province. Statistics show that the industry generated 811.3 billion yuan ($118.57 billion) in revenues last year, making Sichuan rank sixth in the country and first in the central and western regions.

The province ranks among the national top 10 in the number of patent applications in various technical fields of the electronic information technology industry, with information security ranking fifth, internet of things, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence ranking sixth, and integrated circuit, information technology service, smart terminal, and 5G (the 5th generation wireless systems) ranking seventh.
