The 2019 Tianjin-Taiwan trade fair opened today in Tianjin and will run till July 8.

The fair has held 11 sessions since 2008. It is the largest and most attended exchange event between Tianjin and Taiwan.

More than 2,300 people from Taiwan's political and business circles have attended the various fairs where up to 3.6 million deals have been made , leading to a number of Taiwan-funded projects in Tianjin.

The fair serves as a platform to promote the regional popularity of Taiwan products and cross-Strait economic and trade cooperation.

Themed exhibitions of Taiwan's counties and districts are highlighted at the fair, welcoming Taiwan industry associates and enterprises to explore business opportunities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area.

In-depth discussions and forums will be held on hot investment projects involving experts and institutions from the four provinces and multiplicities, including an entrepreneur summit, health innovation projects, high-level personnel exchanges and communications and promotional seminars on famous enterprises and brands.

In addition, eight professional doctors will conduct free clinics for people in the fair hall.

Results from the fair are supported by implementation of favorable policies toward Taiwan. During last year's fair, Tianjin released 53 measures to deepen communication with Taiwan in economic, social, economic and other matters, which have seen notable progress in the past year.

Several Taiwan residents were awarded high honors in Tianjin for their work and over 100 Taiwan students are enrolled in Tianjin's top level universities such as Nankai university and Tianjin University. More job opportunities will be released during the event in the hope that more Taiwan youths will come to Tianjin to pursue their dreams.

Non-governmental organizations play a great part in the event. Over ten Taiwan civil society organizations have offered support to the meeting.
