Jilin Citizen Cultural Festival kicks off

The sixth Jilin Citizen Cultural Festival kicked off at Changchun University of Technology in Changchun, in Northeast China’s Jilin province, on June 30.

Hosted by the province’s publicity department, culture and tourism department, literary federation, writers’ association and radio and television station, the festival aims to enrich people’s daily lives.

Officials said it is also part of the province’s activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Running until the end of September, the festival will offer more than 120 cultural activities, including art performances such as operas, dramas, dancing and concerts, as well as poetry recitation competitions.
