Changchun expo focuses on pet industry

The 3rd North China Pet Veterinary Conference & Northeast Asian Pet Exhibition was held at the Changchun International Conference and Exhibition Center in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province, from June 28 to 30.

The event was sponsored by veterinarian associations of seven provinces and cities –– Jilin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and Tianjin.

It focused on pet health, and experts from around the world gave more than 50 lectures on areas such as hospital management, surgery operations, and healthcare of pets.

The Northeast Asian Pet Exhibition, covering an exhibition area of more than 12,000 square meters, attracted over 200 exhibitors from all over the world, showcasing pet medical equipment, surgical instruments, imaging equipment, laboratory equipment, pet health products, nutritional products, prescription food, pet grooming, and more.

Northeast China is one of the earliest areas in the country to develop the pet industry, representing an important national pet breeding, raising and export base.

According to incomplete statistics, Northeast China currently boasts more than 5,100 pet shops and 1,400 pet hospitals, and Jilin province is home to more than 2,000 shops and 400 hospitals.

Pet economy has become increasingly significant in China, and the event was held with the aim of promoting the development of the pet health industry and improving relationships between people and animals.
