Nanchang Hongkong University is a multi-disciplinary university jointly established by the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.
Located in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, the university has two campuses in Qianhu and Shanghai Road which cover an area of about 200 hectares. It is well equipped with 39,000 sets of teaching and research equipment worth about 450 million yuan ($65.4 million).
The university was evolved from Hankou Hangkou Industrial School which was founded in 1952 in Hubei province. There are currently 1,961 faculty members and 23,318 full-time students.
The university consists of 21 colleges, providing both bachelor and master programs. Materials Science and Engineering are its two competitive specialties.
Focused on international cooperation and exchanges, the university has maintained partnership with more than 60 universities and institutions across 20 countries and regions, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Ukraine. Over the past five years, about 800 students have been involved in overseas exchange projects.
There are now 201 international students at the university. The available scholarships for them include “Chinese Government Scholarship”, “Chinese Government Supports Local Project Scholarship” and “Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students”.
