Raoyang Tofu Jelly is a famous snack from Raoyang county, Hengshui city, with a history of more than 180 years.

The tofu jelly, invented by Han Yu who sold the snack for a living in the countyside, became a famous dish to all, far and near, as early as the Guangxu Period (1871-1908) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Fourteen ingredients and seasonings are needed to cook this snack, including soybean, flour, pork, chicken, Chinese chives, lard oil, fennel seeds, vinegar, and cinnamon. With 40 percent of the snack made up of plant proteins, it is nutritious and good for eating in spring and autumn.

In recent years, food companies in Raoyang have invented instant tofu jelly, earning a national patent for the product.
