As the main feature of the Zhongshan Warship Memorial Park within the tourist area, the Zhongshan Warship Museum opened to the public in October 2011.
The site takes its name "Shipai" (meaning "stone tablet") from a giant rock standing upright like a tablet at the mountain's peak.
