Jilin raises awareness of food security

Jilin Province & Changchun City Food Safety Awareness Month kicked off in Changchun, capital city of Jilin province, on June 25.

Shi Yugang, vice-governor of Jilin province, attended and addressed the launch ceremony.

A commitment ceremony was held with the attendance of 100 company representatives. The “Jilin Looks for Restaurant with Smile Face” app, which gives out information about the grading of restaurants on food safety, was also recommended to the public.

In the following month, provincial departments responsible for food security are set to stage activities to raise people’s awareness on food security.

Local governments and departments in charge of food security will carry out promotional activities such as policy interpretations, consulting services and business training.

Companies engaged in food production and other social and professional organizations are also being encouraged to carry out promotional and training activities on food security.
