Travelling Napoleon exhibition arrives in Guizhou

An exhibition of Napoleon-related historical relics kicked off at Guizhou Provincial Museum, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province on June 25 and will last until Sept 1.

The exhibition includes more than 150 exhibits such as oil paintings, sculptures and prints created by famous artists, goods used by Napoleon and his relatives, as well as clothing and household goods during the Napoleonic era.

The exhibits not only showcase the ups and downs of Napoleon's rule, but also present glorious European art of this period.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France. The exhibition is expected to promote the exchange of folk culture and art between the two countries.

According to Chen Shunxiang, curator of Guizhou Provincial Museum, the museum has arranged a large number of temporary exhibitions to enable cultures from different countries communicate with Chinese culture in Guizhou, in support of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The exhibition has been shown in Yunnan and will be presented in Shanxi, Henan, and Guangdong next.
