As a key hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Jiangxi province has striven to accelerate high-quality development and create a business-friendly environment for investors. It relies on its strong economy, favorable policies and talent pool, according to local officials.

"Over the past few years, the economic growth rate of Jiangxi is ranked high across the nation. It recorded 8.6 percent economic growth in the first half of this year, ranking third in China," said Yi Lianhong, governor of Jiangxi, at a trade and business cooperation seminar held recently in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.

"The economic development of Jiangxi has entered a vital stage. Entrepreneurs have made great contributions and played an indispensable part in the process," Yi said.

Liu Shufeng, chairman of the Guangdong-based Shengyi Technology, a global supplier of electronic circuit base materials, said private enterprise plays a role in boosting the economy. He added that it is wise for Jiangxi to provide fertile ground for private enterprises.

"The future competition lies in talent, education and technology. And we focus as much on them as the development potential in Jiangxi," he said.

Settled in the province's Jiujiang city in 2017, the company began building its plant in March. It is scheduled to start operating by the end of this year.

Zeng Qiang, general manager of Chiaphua Components Group's Shenzhen subsidiary, said that the business environment in Jiangxi is becoming more open. That is why his company has decided to base its operations here.

"We are trying hard to strengthen cooperation with local universities and have established friendly ties with Nanchang University.

"High-level professionals are the key to the sustainable development of companies," Zeng said. "We hope that Jiangxi will launch more supportive policies to attract professionals and help enterprises keep them."

To add momentum to economic development, Jiangxi has formed a complete industrial chain for the electronics and information industry. Revenue generated by the sector reached 132 billion yuan ($19.2 billion) between January to April this year, up 17.28 percent year-on-year. It ranks 10th nationwide.

Some cities in the province including Nanchang and Ji'an are seeking cooperation with companies in the Pearl River Delta region. The area is viewed as a global industrial cluster of the electronics and information industry.

Lin Zhendong, chairman of Tinno Mobile Technology, a provider of mobile communication products and services based in Shenzhen, said that thanks to the province's friendly environment, the company has made big progress in Jiangxi. Output value has surpassed 10 billion yuan since it began operation there two years ago.

"We will invest more in research and development with the expansion of 5G-related business," Lin said. "We are confident about Jiangxi's future. This year, our company's income is expected to reach 4 billion yuan."
