Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), founded in the 1970s, is a 3A-grade TCM hospital that provides medical treatment, scientific research, teaching and training, disease prevention and rehabilitation.

Currently, the hospital has 52 clinical and scientific departments, and 34 inpatient wards with 1,450 patient beds. Four departments – spleen and stomach diseases, proctology, nephrology, and the science of nursing of TCM – are listed as national key clinical specialties. Seven departments – spleen and stomach diseases, proctology, nephrology, science of nursing of TCM, acupuncture, emergency and otolaryngology – are among key specialties of the National Administration of TCM.

There are more than 1,400 staff members at the hospital, of whom 268 have senior titles. The amount of advanced medical equipment, each of which is valued at more than 100,000 yuan ($14,000), exceeds 200, providing powerful support for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of basic medical problems and critical illnesses.

The hospital, as an affiliated hospital of Hebei University of Chinese Medicine, undertakes the teaching of 16 courses, with more than 400 undergraduates and over 150 masters and doctors training every year.

A provincial-level data center for TCM was built up by the hospital to carry out the project of the National Administration of TCM to form a health information platform for TCM centers.
