Chongqing General Hospital (CGH) came from the merger of Chongqing's Third People's Hospital and Chongqing Zhongshan Hospital in 2014.
In June 2018, the hospital became a directly affiliated hospital under the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The hospital is the healthcare center for government employees, the training facility for Chongqing Medical University and Sichuan Medical University, and the designated hospital that offers a green channel for traffic accidents.
