Bayanqolu, Party chief of Northeast China’s Jilin province and Jing Junhai, the province’s governor, met a delegation from Russia’s Primorsky Territory recently to forge better ties, officials said.

The meeting was held in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, on June 16. The delegation was led by Oleg Kozhemyako, governor of Primorsky Territory, and it visited the province on June 16-17.

Bayanqolu said at the meeting that his province had answered the call of the country to establish close cooperation with Russia, especially with the Russian Far East region. Primorsky Territory boasts the most developed business in its region, and Jilin has already built a solid partnership with the area in fields like the economy, investment and culture.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Russia diplomatic relations and it is expected that the two places will deepen their cooperation to boost development further, the Party chief added.

Jing also expressed his hopes that both sides would strength cooperation in trade, agriculture, and tourism, and make joint efforts to develop the marine economy.

Further relationships are expected to be established in communications, port construction and culture and tourism, Russia’s Kozhemyako said at the meeting.
