Korean folk culture festival held in Jilin

The 18th Jilin Korean Folk Culture Festival was held in Jilin city, Northeast China’s Jilin province, from June 15 to 16.

The event was hosted by the Jilin municipal people’s government and organized by the Jilin culture, radio, television, and tourism bureau, and the Jilin ethnic affairs committee. It was meant to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

One of the most influential cultural events among China’s Korean ethnic group, the festival features cultural performances, exhibitions of intangible cultural heritage items, sports competitions, and special food.

This year, more than 1,000 people participated in 12 activities, including a singing competition, an elderly dance competition, and volleyball and football competitions.
